Hello, October! πŸŽƒ

Hi Reader, and happy October!

This might be my favorite month of all the months. I love when summer turns to fall. I love the cozy weather, and the sweaters, and the extra blankets on the bed, and the leaves and the light changing, and the pumpkin everything, everywhere... There's something so inspiring about this time of year! Do you feel the same way?

The painting above is a bit of a nod to the spookiness of this season, with all those little white ghosts floating above the trees, in a fluorescent sky.... I'm excited to dedicate a bit more time painting in the coming weeks, as this time of year is perfect for cozying up in the studio with a cup of tea and a fresh palette of paint. :)

Things have, as ever, been full full full around here!

We had a super sad loss last month in our little family – our sweet cat, Magic, was hit by a car, which was absolutely crushing for my kids and me. He was a wildly adventurous cat, full of bravado and personality, and we miss him immensely. That said, after feeling it and letting it all sink in, we came to the conclusion that there are a lot of kittens and cats who need loving homes, and we have enough room in our hearts to feel the heartbreak of losing Magic and also to love a new kitty.

So off we went to the Humane Society, and look who we came home with:

Meet Louis and Jellybean! (The most ridiculous names.🀣) Louis is the white one and Jellybean is the black one. We love them so much already. And these two are staying inside!!

In other news, mark your calendars for November 12th! That's the day I'll be opening my online new HOLIDAY SHOP, and there'll be a lot of new things available – some that are very limited in quantity (hello, original paintings!) – so you'll definitely want to remember the date and come check it out! Ornaments, greeting cards, paintings, oracle card decks, books, wrapping paper, and more. I'm so excited to share everything with you!

More details (and sneak peeks from the photoshoot that's happening next week) soon. :)

LISTENING TO...

I heard Frazey Ford for the first time the other day while getting my monthly B12 shot, and now I'm listening on repeat. (I secretly wish I were in a band. Is it too late for me??)

FREE MINI CLASS

It's baaaaack! As we zoom toward the holiday season and things might start to feel more chaotic and stressful, could art-making be a welcome respite and relief? (My answer: YOU BET it can!)

I'M READING...

If you're of the woo/woo-adjacent variety (like me!), you may already be well-steeped in Abraham Hicks. I'm re-visiting this book (in audiobook form this time) right now and it never fails to brighten my mood and help me remember the amazing, magical mystery of it all.

OK, buttercups! I'm off to pick people up from school now. I hope your Tuesday has been wonderful and that the rest of your week is even better.

Sending love, color, and creative magic your way today!

Hi hi hi! How is it already July?! We spent some time swimming in a river over the weekend with friends, and I feel like this is just a quintessential summer photo, you know? Sun! Water! Swimming! Happy kids! I also feel like it's a photo that reminds me of how easy it is to see someone else's photo and construct an entire story around it from the little slice of info we've got – just one photo. My kids had a great time at the river, and I did, too... sort-of. What you can't see in this photo...

Hi Reader, Ever have one of those weeks where you feel like you're moving through molasses? You know spending some time being creative would help, but it feels like your inner artist just... wandered off without saying goodbye? Yep. Same here. I know I’ve been sharing quite a few offerings lately β€” and if your inbox is feeling full, I get it. But this one is really special, and I’d be so happy to have you join me. The Making Zen Online Retreat kicks off on May 26th, and it’s basically a big,...
