Let’s hit reset on your creativity

Hi Reader,

Ever have one of those weeks where you feel like you're moving through molasses? You know spending some time being creative would help, but it feels like your inner artist just... wandered off without saying goodbye?

Yep. Same here.

I know I’ve been sharing quite a few offerings lately — and if your inbox is feeling full, I get it. But this one is really special, and I’d be so happy to have you join me.

The Making Zen Online Retreat kicks off on May 26th, and it’s basically a big, beautiful invitation to slow down, make art, and reconnect with your creative self.

I’ll be teaching a workshop about Art-Making and Your Intuition, and I’d love for you to come hang out!

You’ll also get to participate in an awesome variety of other fun workshops, like:

  • Eco-Print Paper with Pressed Flowers & Onion Skins
  • Weaving with Intention
  • Mini Landscapes in Fabric and Thread
  • Deepening Your Creative Practice with Oracle Cards
  • Chance & Choice Embroidery Sampler
  • ... and so many more

It’s completely free to join, and each workshop is available for 24 hours after it goes live.

If you want early access and extra goodies, the VIP Pass is available at early bird pricing until May 26. It includes:

  • Early access to all workshops starting May 12 (that's next Monday!)
  • Daily live creative sessions with Kate Ward
  • 30 days in the Sashiko Stitch Club
  • Transcripts, a private podcast, extended replays
  • $900+ in exclusive gifts from the speakers
  • The Making Zen eBook to keep everything in one place

If your creative spark has been feeling a little dim lately, this online retreat might be just what you need. :)

ps – That VIP Pass link is an affiliate link — if you choose to upgrade, I’ll receive a small commission (at no extra cost to you). It helps me keep sharing things like this, so thank you 💙

Hi hi hi! How is it already July?! We spent some time swimming in a river over the weekend with friends, and I feel like this is just a quintessential summer photo, you know? Sun! Water! Swimming! Happy kids! I also feel like it's a photo that reminds me of how easy it is to see someone else's photo and construct an entire story around it from the little slice of info we've got – just one photo. My kids had a great time at the river, and I did, too... sort-of. What you can't see in this photo...

Hi Reader, I returned home on Sunday from teaching at my friend Carrie Schmitt's Art Is Love retreat, and I've been easing my way back into my regular rhythm the past couple of days, trying to go slow even though my mind is starting to churn with all the familiar chatter about all the things I need to do or haven't done or aren't doing right and on and on. Hello, busy mind! According to Carrie, your mind can't think thoughts when you're humming, so maybe I'll try humming more...? I don't know...
